Julia Green is an illustrator born, raised, and currently residing in Boise, Idaho. With a love of drawing and painting that goes back as far as she can remember, Green became comfortable with art at a young age, deciding early on that art was exactly what she wanted to be doing. In kindergarten she even wrote an “About Me" book - all about how she was going to be an artist when she grew up. Her work is a mix of humor and soft feelings inspired by nature and animals, old cartoons, vintage toys, and fables. Her process starts in daydreams and sketches and then focuses on what seems to be cracking her up the most. Her works are created entirely digitally, although she still feels more natural doing sketch and ink in her sketchbook, being as messy as she needs to be. Her work includes gig posters, album artwork, t-shirts, spot illustrations, card designs, gift wrap designs, chalk signs, and much more. Green creates the artwork for Beardface Supply Co. and is co-founder and lead designer for Hella Cool Kids, a line of enamel pins and kitschy goodies. Green earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Illustration from Boise State University and has been featured in several exhibitions, notable shows such as 2010 Wild Wilderness at Flying M Coffee, 2011 The Cute and Creepy Show at Visual Arts Collective, 2013 Never After at Visual Arts Collective, 2015 Independent Order of the Meow Fellows at Visual Arts Collective, and was awarded the Alexa Rose Foundation Artist Grant.
