Heather Sprague

Swell Artist Collective’s Heather Sprague is a professional graphic designer who creates scintillating, luminescent digital paintings and illustrations. Her imaginative, illustrious work transports you to beautiful, contemplative realms of swirling clouds, open forests, and clever animals. Using an iPad Pro and an abundance of creative wit, Sprague's hyperrealistic digital paintings are colorful arrays of finely detailed creatures and dreamscapes encased in a soft glow. Delicate flower petals, feathers, and blades of grass bring about scenes that may appear normal at first, but that are slightly off, stepping over into a realm of fantasy where anything is possible.

Heather Sprague is a professional graphic designer who creates scintillating, luminescent digital paintings and illustrations. Originally from Lewiston, Idaho, she has always been fascinated with creating. Growing up, her dad and her grandmother really encouraged her to cultivate this passion for art. They provided a support network, giving her guidance towards positive directions in the art world. Being a fairly shy and quiet person, these little pushes helped her to flourish in wonderful ways. Many nights were spent busting out epic paintings, which were then given to her family and friends for Christmas and birthday gifts. Over the years, she has experimented with many kinds of creativity, ranging from acrylics and oil to new media, and lately, clay sculpture.

It all starts with the crazy images fully realized in her mind. She begins to create; sketching, refining, trying to get it out, and then she goes through and paints the fine details. She often shares a video of her process on her YouTube channel. Sprague went to the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho and focused heavily on Interior Design, Architecture and Fine Art. She has a Bachelor’s degree in General studies and two Minors in Interior Design and Art. She now lives in Boise, Idaho with her husband where she is truly excited to continue her love of creating art in such a beautiful city.
